Privacy Policy

Effective Date: May 5, 2025

Opencontainer is a professional knowledge platform dedicated to improving container transport safety and sharing practical maritime and logistics knowledge.

We value your privacy and are committed to handling personal data responsibly and securely in accordance with applicable laws, including the Personal Information Protection Act of the Republic of Korea.

This Privacy Policy explains:

  • what personal data we collect;
  • why and how we use it;
  • how long we retain it;
  • which service providers process data on our behalf;
  • how data may be transferred outside Korea; and
  • what rights you have regarding your personal data.

If we update this Privacy Policy, we will post a notice on the Opencontainer website.

Article 1. Personal Data We Process and Why

Opencontainer processes only the minimum amount of personal data necessary for the purposes described below.

1. Partnership Inquiries and Cooperation Proposals

When you contact us regarding a partnership or cooperation proposal, we may process the following information:

  • Data collected: Name, job title, email address, company or organization name, official website, business sector, preferred form of cooperation, and inquiry details
  • Purpose: To receive and review proposals, confirm the sender and contact details, respond with the review outcome, and communicate regarding potential cooperation
  • How we collect it: Information submitted directly by email

2. Online OJT Participation and Completion Confirmation

Opencontainer’s online OJT, meaning on-the-job training content, may be accessed without providing personal data.

However, personal data is required when a participant requests evaluation of final answers and issuance of an OJT Completion Confirmation.

  • Data collected: Name, email address, company or organization name, OJT participation and completion records, final answers, evaluation results, consent status, consent-form version, issuance date, and Completion Confirmation details
  • Purpose: To manage participation and progress, review final answers, communicate evaluation results, issue or reissue Completion Confirmations, and verify completion records
  • How we collect it: Information submitted directly through a Tally online form

The Opencontainer OJT Completion Confirmation only confirms completion of an independently operated Opencontainer OJT program.

It is not:

  • a nationally recognized qualification;
  • proof of completion of legally required training; or
  • an official certification of professional competence.

3. OJT Participation and Completion Statistics

Where a participant provides separate consent, the company or organization name entered by the participant, together with participation or completion status, may be used to prepare and publish aggregated OJT statistics.

  • Data used: Company or organization name, participation status, and completion status
  • Information that may be published: Total number of participants and completers, number of participating companies or organizations, and aggregated figures by company or organization
  • Information that will not be published: Names, email addresses, final answers, and individual evaluation results

Statistics are based on information entered directly by participants.

The inclusion of a company or organization in these statistics does not mean that the organization has officially adopted, approved, endorsed, or partnered with the Opencontainer OJT program.

Participants may refuse consent to the statistical use and publication of affiliation information without affecting access to the OJT, evaluation of final answers, or issuance of a Completion Confirmation.
